School Information

In December, 2005, the JATC purchased their own building on NE 42nd Avenue in Portland.  We now have the ability to provide all classes, lab shops, and administrative offices and support in one location.

The Area 1 Inside Electrical JATC is a state certified apprenticeship and training program for the non-union inside electrician.  Our program is a 4-year education and training program.  At the end of 4 years, our apprentices graduate from our program with over 576 hours of classroom instruction and 8,000 field hours.

School is 1 night a week for 4 hours with additional lab classes scheduled on alternate nights, September through June.  Students are responsible for tuition and books.  All classes are held at the JATC Training Center.  Classes are progressive.  You have to start at the beginning of the school year.  No late entires.

In addition to the books listed below, all instructors require #2 pencils, TI-30 Calculators (provided to 1st year students in class), a notebook, colored pencils, and an ink pen.  The required JATC notebook for the 4th year class will be available in the office after September 10, 2007.

Books are required.  Please look for your instructor name and you will see what books are required for that term.  Your instructor may require additional books not listed on this list.
